Inspired by 4th of July firework displays, and facing a long road trip, I decided to stitch one large Log Cabin, then quilt and bind it before my trip so I could embroider fireworks on the road. The Log Cabin block is a symbol of hearth and home and July is the month when we celebrate the birth of our homeland. WebHome of the Brave is a 2008 juvenile novel by Katherine Applegate that is written entirely in free verse. The story revolves around the protagonist, a young boy named Kek, who has fled from violence and upheaval in his native Sudan and traveled alone to the United States.
